“Ding dong ding dong! A body has been discovered!”
Of course no one’s been killed yet.
"of course! it wouldn’t make any sense at all for everyone but my best broseph shezow to have one!"
"As you can CLEARLY see, the Nomicon is right here in my hand and it is right here and there are no problems with it whatsoever not at all just because I don’t show off my awesome ninja self all the time doesn’t mean i don’t have it!”
"Magic-repulsing flowers" is our best guess right now. With all the effort on finding a way to escape, there hasn’t been a lot of time spent on studying the flowers, but we’ve figured a couple things out.
First off, they only react to certain people. And when I say “react,” I mean they start smoking a weird red smoke that won’t dissipate until the person that caused the reaction backs off. Normally, they only glow a little, and sometimes they’ll start smoking randomly, even if no one is nearby.
I know that myself, Mabel, Mike, Candace, and a couple others don’t cause a reaction when we’re near the flowers. I’ve caught Mabel with them in her hair once or twice, in the very beginning, but that stopped pretty quick. It turns out that the flowers react and hurt Jake and Norman whenever they’re too close by. (It also doesn’t matter what form Jake is in; the flowers smoke no matter what.)
At first, I thought that the purpose of the flowers was to keep the superhuman students from approaching and breaking down the walls, but Juniper and an actual registered superhero being able to withstand the flowers’ effects kind of throws out that theory. Those two claim that they can handle the flowers with only a little discomfort. I also have the suspicion that Guy has a similar reaction, but he’s almost impossible to track down and talk to.
It could be that Norman and Jake are overreacting, but Jake seems too strong for that to be the case. Norman, maybe, but not a dragon.
